Ian Hunter vs Alastair Merricks

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Walter Pyramid, Long Beach,  taking place on 21/10/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Ian Hunter (2 - 0) who hails from Shreveport, USA and Alastair Merricks(5 - 10 - 4) from Milwaukee, USA.  Both Hunter and Merricks weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Josh Butchart, and the three ringside judges are Dave Owen, Rob Fulton and Khalid Shaikh.  

Round 1: 

Hunter steps inside.  Merricks attempts to land a right hook, but Hunter sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.

Hunter closes the distance and manouvers Merricks into a corner.  Hunter lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Merricks steps to the outside.  Hunter quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Hunter lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Merricks steps away from his opponent.  Hunter hits home with a stinging cross.
