Dai Abernethy vs Ethan Westwater

Boxing Daily Report from the Arrow Fighting Group promoted show at Alen Girvin Gym, Denver,  taking place on 20/11/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Mountain West Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dai Abernethy (7 - 14 - 5) who hails from Anchorage, USA and Ethan Westwater(7 - 11(1) - 3) from Westminster, USA.  Both Abernethy and Westwater weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Bonner, and the three ringside judges are Robert Picard, Mark Brimer and Glynn Wardrop.  

Round 1: 

Westwater attempts to land a cross, but Abernethy sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Abernethy attempts to land a cross, but Westwater slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Abernethy steps away from his opponent and hits home with an overhand left.  
Westwater steps to the outside.  Abernethy lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.

Abernethy advances into close range.  Westwater pivots from in front of his opponent.  Westwater throws a right hook, but Abernethy holds on to his opponent.  Abernethy hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks Abernethy's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Abernethy steps inside.  Westwater hits home with a left uppercut.  
Abernethy steps inside.  Westwater throws a right hook, but Abernethy ties up his opponent.  Abernethy tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Westwater behind the head.

Abernethy lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Abernethy switches the action to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Westwater is on target with a right hook.  Westwater throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Abernethy to the neutral corner.  He has a stern word with Westwater and threatens a point deduction if continues to foul.  
Westwater walks Abernethy onto the ropes.  Abernethy hits home with a left hook.
