Diego Vilchis vs Brett Boward

Boxing Daily Report from the Pearlnew Promotions promoted show at Complejo Ferial de Puerto Rico, Ponce,  taking place on 21/12/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego El Asesino Vilchis (12(1) - 0) who hails from Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Brett Boward(10 - 9(2)) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  Both Vilchis and Boward weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Nicandro Martinez, and the three ringside judges are Beltran Correira, Porfio Miguel and Vegas Baquero.  

Round 1: 

Vilchis advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Vilchis steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Boward hits home with a cross.  
Vilchis steps inside and digs in a sharp right hook to Boward's ribs.  
Vilchis closes the distance.  Vilchis pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Boward tries to step out of his opponents range.  Vilchis connects with an overhand right.  
Vilchis advances into close range and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Boward throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.

Boward throws a left hook, but Vilchis clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Vilchis pushes his forearm into Boward's face.  The referee warns Vilchis and breaks the clinch.  
Vilchis is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Vilchis lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.  
Vilchis is looking to close the distance and drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  
Vilchis lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Boward throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Boward is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Vilchis lands two overhand lefts followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Vilchis advances into close range and drives a sharp right hook into his opponents ribs.  Vilchis ties up his opponent.  Vilchis tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Boward behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Vilchis about fouling.  
Boward switches the action to the outside.  Vilchis lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Vilchis steps inside and walks Boward into the corner.  Vilchis digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Vilchis sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right uppercut to Boward's body.

Vilchis cuts off the ring, trapping Boward on the ropes.  Vilchis lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Vilchis digs in a right uppercut to Boward's body.  
Boward throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Vilchis steps inside and throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Vilchis holds on to his opponent.  Vilchis is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
