Ibrahim Shaheed vs Harish Iyenger

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at IIT Kanpur, Kanpur,  taking place on 15/01/2027:

Clearly TFI have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the India Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Star Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ibrahim Shaheed (12(5) - 0 - 1) who hails from Ahmedabad, India and Harish Iyenger(12 - 7(1) - 2) from Pune, India.  Both Shaheed and Iyenger weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mahinder Bhunder, and the three ringside judges are Kalidas Khaparde, Zuffur Khalid and Kalidas Khaparde.  

Round 1: 

Shaheed is on target with a cross.  
Iyenger steps inside.  Shaheed lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Shaheed switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head.  
Shaheed lands with a hard jab.  
Shaheed lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and an overhand left to the head.  
Shaheed lands a jab to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Shaheed steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Shaheed lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Iyenger gets on the inside.  Shaheed drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Shaheed tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Iyenger almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Shaheed lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
Shaheed lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Shaheed lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Shaheed is on target with a stinging jab.

Shaheed finds the target with a sharp jab.

Shaheed lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.

Iyenger closes the distance.  Shaheed lands two right hook's to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Shaheed holds on to his opponent.  Shaheed leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Iyenger advances into close range.  Shaheed lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Shaheed is looking to keep his distance.  Shaheed sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand right.  
Iyenger is looking to close the distance.  Iyenger sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Iyenger tries to land a right hook, but Shaheed slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Iyenger finds the target with a jab.  Iyenger tries to land a jab, but Shaheed slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Shaheed steps to the outside and lands a hard jab.  
Shaheed lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Shaheed steps away from his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Shaheed feints a left, and then lands a jab to the head, a cross to the head and a cross to the body.

Shaheed steps away from his opponent.  Iyenger throws an overhand right, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Shaheed feints a jab, and then is on target with a left uppercut.  
Iyenger advances into close range and walks Shaheed down, trapping him on the ropes.  Shaheed lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Shaheed clinches his opponent.  Shaheed tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Iyenger behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Shaheed to stop fouling.  
Shaheed is on target with an overhand left.  
Shaheed quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a ramrod jab.  
Iyenger advances into close range.  Shaheed hits home with a stinging right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Iyenger dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Shaheed digs in a left uppercut to Iyenger's liver.  Shaheed tries to land a right uppercut, but Iyenger slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Shaheed tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross.  
Iyenger sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Shaheed lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  He then lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Iyenger quickly recovers. 
Shaheed is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Iyenger's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Shaheed sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand right, jab and a cross to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES IYENGER!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Iyenger cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Shaheed!
