Jay Nicolson vs Jose Armando

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Upstate Medical University Arena, Syracuse,  taking place on 20/02/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the North American Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jay Nicolson (20(3) - 0) who hails from Irvine, USA and Jose Armando(17(7) - 5(4)) from Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.  Nicolson weighed in at 154 pounds, while Armando weighed in at 153 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Neil Sneddon, and the three ringside judges are Mark Hughes, Ben Hopkins and Paul Evans.
