Sammy Starrett vs Joel Russell

Boxing Daily Report from the Sugar Valley promotion promoted show at DoubleTree Hotel Ontario, Ontario,  taking place on 04/02/2027:

Clearly Sugar Valley promotion have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sammy Starrett (5(1) - 0) who hails from Louisville, USA and Joel Russell(1 - 1) from New York City, USA.  Starrett weighed in at 200 pounds, while Russell weighed in at 199 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is David Evans, and the three ringside judges are Zafa Rafiq, Oliver Craddock and Barry Sabado.  

Round 1: 

Starrett is looking to close the distance.  Russell throws a right uppercut, but Starrett holds on to his opponent.  Starrett is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Starrett.  
Starrett advances into close range.  Starrett sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Russell switches the action to the outside.  Starrett lands a cross.  
Russell forces Starrett to retreat into the corner.  Russell sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Starrett lands a cross to the head, a left hook to the body and a cross to the head.  
Russell tries to step out of his opponents range.  Russell sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Starrett is on target with a cross.
