Xeres Prieto vs Amon Povey

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at New City Gas, Montreal,  taking place on 30/01/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Xeres Prieto (7(1) - 0) who hails from Arequipa, Peru and Amon Povey(10 - 4(1) - 1) from Toronto, Canada.  Prieto weighed in at 121 pounds and 13 ounces, while Povey weighed in at 121 pounds and 1 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Brendan Aitken, and the three ringside judges are Aaron Henry, Varocher Painchaud and Stephen Morton.  

Round 1: 

Prieto closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.

Prieto closes the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Povey on the ropes.  Prieto hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  Prieto ties up his opponent.  Prieto pushes his forearm into Povey's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Prieto to stop fouling.

Povey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Prieto lands a sharp jab.  Prieto tries to land a cross, but Povey slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Prieto advances into close range and walks Povey onto the ropes.  Prieto is on target with a left hook to Povey's liver.  
Prieto gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Prieto steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.
