Diego Barretto vs Ponce Sanz

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ecuador-Pichincha promoted show at Quito Correira, Quito,  taking place on 16/01/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Ecuador-Pichincha Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Barretto (19 - 7) who hails from Quito, Ecuador and Ponce Sanz(9 - 5(1) - 6) from Quito, Ecuador.  Barretto weighed in at 114 pounds and 4 ounces, while Sanz weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Santiago Rolon, and the three ringside judges are Ovidio Vallez, Manuel Moralez and Cris Lainez.  

Round 1: 

Barretto is on target with a left hook.  
Sanz throws a left uppercut, but is not on target.  Sanz holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Sanz steps inside.  Barretto throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Sanz clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Barretto pushes his forearm into Sanz's face.  The ref breaks Sanz's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
