Nao Shimabukuro vs Takeshi Kikuchi

Boxing Daily Report from the Hidaka promoted show at Kyoto Okamoto, Kyoto,  taking place on 23/01/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Kyoto Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nao Shimabukuro (12 - 4(1) - 3) who hails from Kyoto, Japan and Takeshi Kikuchi(6 - 8 - 2) from Kyoto, Japan.  Both Shimabukuro and Kikuchi weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Takeshi Shimizu, and the three ringside judges are Kenji Fujiwara, Naoki Kawasaki and Takeshi Shimizu.  

Round 1: 

Shimabukuro is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with an overhand left.  
Kikuchi hits home with a left hook.  
Shimabukuro tries to land a jab, but Kikuchi slips the shot and counters with a right hook to Shimabukuro's ribcage.  
Kikuchi pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Kikuchi advances into close range.  Shimabukuro pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Kikuchi hits home with a left hook.  
Shimabukuro drives a right hook into Kikuchi's body.
