Polad Mir vs Afanas Kajrckulov

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Uzbekistan-Samarqand promoted show at Haji Garakhanov Gym, Samarqand,  taking place on 01/02/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Uzbekistan-Samarqand Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Uzbek Sport, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Polad Mir (11 - 6(3) - 5) who hails from Samarqand, Uzbekistan and Afanas Kajrckulov(6 - 3 - 5) from Samarqand, Uzbekistan.  Both Mir and Kajrckulov weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mikhail Valihanow, and the three ringside judges are Fedya Baylarbayov, Hikmet Davi and Borya Dzhebrailov.  

Round 1: 

Mir gets on the inside.  Kajrckulov lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Mir pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Kajrckulov's ribs.  
Mir is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Mir switches the action to the outside.  Kajrckulov attempts to land a cross, but Mir slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Kajrckulov quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mir connects with a cross.  
Kajrckulov gets on the inside.  Mir pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kajrckulov closes the distance.  Mir connects with a left hook.  
Mir backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Kajrckulov tries to tag Mir on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mir's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kajrckulov's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Kajrckulov has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused bad swelling  around the right eye.
