Chris Steen vs John Murrie

Boxing Daily Report from the Hands Promotions promoted show at Bing Crosby Hall, San Diego,  taking place on 20/02/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Chris Steen (1 - 1) who hails from San Jose, USA and John Murrie(1 - 2) from Atlanta, USA.  Both Steen and Murrie weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Theo Carson, and the three ringside judges are Dillon Ireland, John Benitez and Dylan Nield.  

Round 1: 

Murrie connects with a cross.  
Murrie is looking to close the distance.  Murrie pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Steen is looking to keep his distance and drives a cross into Murrie's body.  
Steen closes the distance.  Murrie pivots from in front of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Steen advances into close range.  Murrie throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Steen closes the distance and connects with a left uppercut.  
Murrie closes the distance and manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Murrie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Steen finds the target with a jab.  
Murrie closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Steen's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Steen's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Murrie's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Steen gets on the inside.  Murrie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Steen lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Steen switches the action to the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Steen throws an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Murrie steps away from his opponent and lands a jab.  
Murrie gets on the inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Murrie closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Steen advances into close range.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Steen dabs at his face checking for damage.

Round 4: 

As Steen tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Murrie has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Murrie digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Murrie gets on the inside.  Murrie pivots to the left of his opponent and throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Steen time to recover.  
Murrie pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Steen's ribs.  
Murrie advances into close range.  Steen pivots to the side of his opponent.  Murrie lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Steen closes the distance.  Murrie sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 4, lets listen in on the corners...Murrie's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.

Steen steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Steen connects with a cross.  
Steen closes the distance and forces Murrie to back into the red corner.  Murrie lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Steen tries to land a jab, but Murrie sidesteps and counters with a cross.
