Javier Laguna vs Diego Barquero

Boxing Daily Report from the Pearlnew Promotions promoted show at Teatro Arriaga, Bilbao,  taking place on 22/02/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Javier Laguna (3 - 0) who hails from Salamanca, Spain and Diego Barquero(9 - 4 - 2) from Madrid, Spain.  Both Laguna and Barquero weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alejandro Campoverde, and the three ringside judges are Joaquin Urenda, Elias Cristobal and Porfio Salas.  

Round 1: 

Laguna steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Laguna ties up his opponent.  Laguna is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Laguna to stop fouling.  
Laguna gets on the inside and drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Laguna closes the distance and forces Barquero to retreat into the corner.  Laguna pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Laguna pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Laguna sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Laguna lands a sharp right uppercut.  Laguna clinches his opponent.  Laguna leans on his opponent using all his weight. Laguna tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Barquero's kidney. The ref breaks Laguna's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
