Fred Baines vs Circinus Gourcuff

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at Northampton Spencer FC, Northampton,  taking place on 28/02/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Western Europe Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Fred Baines (17 - 7(1) - 1) who hails from Sheffield, UK and Circinus Gourcuff(16(1) - 6(1) - 1) from Rennes, France.  Both Baines and Gourcuff weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brian Hall, and the three ringside judges are Malcolm Apted, Hayden Ritchey and Hayden Ritchey.  

Round 1: 

Gourcuff lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Gourcuff is on target with a cross.  
Baines lands a left hook.  
Gourcuff gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Gourcuff clinches his opponent.  Gourcuff is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Gourcuff drives a sharp left hook into Baines's ribs.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Gourcuff has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused nasty swelling  around the left eye.  
Gourcuff is looking to close the distance and connects with a right hook.  
Gourcuff is on target with a sharp jab.  
Gourcuff lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Gourcuff walks Baines onto the ropes.  Gourcuff quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Gourcuff is on target with a right hook.  
Gourcuff lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Baines advances into close range.  Gourcuff lands a solid right hook.  
Gourcuff is on target with a stinging jab.  
Gourcuff gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.  
Gourcuff pivots to the side of his opponent.  Gourcuff is on target with a left hook.  Gourcuff holds on to his opponent.  Gourcuff pushes his forearm into Baines's face.  The referee warns Gourcuff and breaks the clinch.  
Baines is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with an overhand right.

Baines throws a right hook, but Gourcuff clinches his opponent.  Gourcuff tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Baines's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gourcuff about fouling.
