Diego Sanchez vs Alejandro Iglesias

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Club Sportivo America, Rosario,  taking place on 22/03/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Diego Sanchez (13(6) - 0 - 1(NC)) who hails from La Plata, Argentina and Alejandro Iglesias(8 - 2 - 1) from Córdoba, Argentina.  Sanchez weighed in at 118 pounds, while Iglesias weighed in at 117 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Diego Amescua, and the three ringside judges are Bronco Masias, Franco Isabella and Diego Merino.  

Round 1: 

Sanchez is on target with a firm right hook to Iglesias's body.

Iglesias walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Iglesias throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Sanchez steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Sanchez lands a cross.  
Iglesias attempts to land a cross, but Sanchez slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Sanchez is looking to close the distance.  Iglesias sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Sanchez connects with a left hook.  Sanchez ties up his opponent.  Sanchez is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Sanchez is looking to close the distance.  Iglesias throws a left hook, but Sanchez clinches his opponent.  Sanchez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Sanchez's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Sanchez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a right hook into Iglesias's ribcage.  
Sanchez advances into close range and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Sanchez whips in a big right hook to Iglesias's body.  IGLESIAS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Iglesias recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Sanchez lands with a solid jab.  
Sanchez lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Sanchez ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Sanchez lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Sanchez manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Sanchez knows Iglesias is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Sanchez lands a left uppercut followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Iglesias now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Sanchez lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Iglesias almost instantly recovers. 
Iglesias hits home with an overhand right.  
Sanchez steps inside.  Sanchez pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Sanchez feints a left, and then lands a cross.  
Sanchez closes the distance and EXPLODES a hurtful left hook into his opponents face.  IGLESIAS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Iglesias almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Sanchez lands a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Iglesias's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Iglesias's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Iglesias's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Sanchez lands a jab.  
Sanchez steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Iglesias quickly recovers. 
Sanchez drives a left hook into Iglesias's liver.  
Sanchez lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Sanchez is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Sanchez lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING IGLESIAS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  It looks like Iglesias has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.
