Okoth Mubita vs Chike Hankende

Boxing Daily Report from the Kit Henderson promoted show at Lisimba Kalabula Gym, Ndola,  taking place on 28/02/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Zambia-Copperbelt Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Okoth Mubita (6 - 4 - 2) who hails from Kitwe, Zambia and Chike Hankende(6 - 3 - 1) from Kitwe, Zambia.  Both Mubita and Hankende weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mykelti Shona, and the three ringside judges are Phornello Hamabilo, Oringo Namomba and Kyan Lisulo.  

Round 1: 

Mubita tries to keep the action at long range.  Hankende connects with a cross.  
Hankende steps inside.  Hankende sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.

Mubita closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Hankende connects with a left hook.  
Mubita closes the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hankende dabs at his face checking for damage.

Mubita feints a left hook, and then lands a right hook.  
Mubita switches the action to the outside.  Hankende feints a right hook, and then tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hankende's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.
