Villard Obie vs Chevy Mellett

Boxing Daily Report from the Asamoah Promotions promoted show at Floyd Johnston Gym, Quebec City,  taking place on 16/03/2027:

Clearly Asamoah Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Quebec Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Villard Obie (10 - 16(3) - 2) who hails from Quebec City, Canada and Chevy Mellett(7 - 6 - 3) from Montreal, Canada.  Obie weighed in at 153 pounds and 13 ounces, while Mellett weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Varocher Painchaud, and the three ringside judges are Aaron Henry, Louis Gillespie and Carvell Brame.  

Round 1: 

Obie switches the action to the outside.  Mellett connects with a cross.  
Obie connects with a cross.  Obie attempts to land a cross, but Mellett slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mellett lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Obie connects with a cross.  
Mellett cuts off the ring, trapping Obie in the red corner.  Obie connects with a left uppercut.  
Obie lands a left hook.  
Mellett hits home with an overhand right.  
Obie switches the action to the outside.  Mellett sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands an overhand right.

Mellett walks Obie down, trapping him on the ropes.  Mellett quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Mellett is looking to keep his distance.  Obie hits home with a cross.  Obie tries to land a jab, but Mellett blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mellett sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Obie steps to the outside.  Obie feints a jab, fooling Mellett into throwing a left hook counter.  Obie avoids the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Obie switches the action to the outside.  Mellett lands an overhand left, overhand right and a cross to his opponents head.  
Mellett pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a cross to his opponents body.  
Mellett voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Obie steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.

Obie throws an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook to Obie's ribcage.
