Sobhan Elakchaoui vs Syed Merakchi

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Palais des Congress, Marrakech,  taking place on 02/04/2027:

Clearly TFI have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Northern African Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Al Jazeera Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sobhan Elakchaoui (24(12) - 0) who hails from Errachidia, Morocco and Syed Merakchi(11 - 0) from Oran, Algeria.  Elakchaoui weighed in at 245 pounds and 8 ounces, while Merakchi weighed in at 237 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Kemaleddin Suissa, and the three ringside judges are Syed Sattar, Murshid Skouma and Jaul Arush.  

Round 1:

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Merakchi dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Merakchi.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Elakchaoui lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Elakchaoui SLAMS a hurtful cross into his opponents face.  IT LOOKS LIKE MERAKCHI WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Merakchi quickly recovers.
