Fausto Alicata vs Angelo Pagani

Boxing Daily Report from the Tim Novak promoted show at Florence Anselmi, Florence,  taking place on 22/03/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Italy Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Italia, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Fausto Alicata (12 - 7 - 6) who hails from Palermo, Italy and Angelo Pagani(16(1) - 5(2)) from Florence, Italy.  Alicata weighed in at 107 pounds and 6 ounces, while Pagani weighed in at 107 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Nico Pagliuzzi, and the three ringside judges are Luigi Libertini, Vittore Bortone and Nico Pagliuzzi.  

Round 1: 

Pagani gets on the inside.  Pagani pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Pagani sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Pagani manouvers Alicata into the corner.  Pagani pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
Pagani tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a cross, but Alicata blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to Pagani's body.  
Pagani is on target with a left hook to Alicata's liver.  
Pagani hits home with a right uppercut.  
Pagani quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Pagani steps inside and lands a sharp left hook.  
Pagani lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Pagani advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Alicata is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.

Pagani tries to step out of his opponents range.  Pagani senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Pagani lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head, AND SENDS ALICATA TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 9.  Alicata now seems to have his senses back.

Pagani steps inside.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Pagani has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
