Yago Retana vs Franco Borbon

Boxing Daily Report from the Anyidoho Promotions promoted show at Javier Nava Gym, Leon,  taking place on 23/02/2027:

Clearly Anyidoho Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Guanajuato Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Yago Retana (4 - 12(1) - 2) who hails from Irapuato, Mexico and Franco Borbon(7 - 2 - 2) from Leon, Mexico.  Retana weighed in at 239 pounds and 13 ounces, while Borbon weighed in at 226 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Diego Principe, and the three ringside judges are Leonardo Holguin, Diego Principe and Cruz Pilar.  

Round 1: 

Retana closes the distance.  Borbon pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a left hook into Retana's ribs.  
Borbon voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Retana accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Borbon.  
Retana pivots to the left of his opponent.  Retana tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Retana attempts to land a left hook, but Borbon slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Borbon steps away from his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Borbon is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Retana attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Borbon's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Retana throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Retana's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Borbon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Retana sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Borbon attempts to land a right hook, but Retana blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Retana steps inside and connects with a right hook.  
Retana lands a right uppercut.  
Borbon is on target with a jab.
