Sam Dowe vs Mick Callan

Boxing Daily Report from the Namugerwa Promotions promoted show at Vincent Kane Gym, Calgary,  taking place on 16/03/2027:

Clearly Namugerwa Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Alberta Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Sam Dowe (6 - 9 - 5) who hails from Calgary, Canada and Mick Callan(3 - 8 - 3) from Edmonton, Canada.  Both Dowe and Callan weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joe Dinwiddie, and the three ringside judges are Campbell Marques, Zachary Sinton and John Haddow.  

Round 1: 

Callan drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Dowe attempts to land a jab, but Callan sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Dowe hits home with a cross.  
Dowe quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Dowe is looking to close the distance.  Callan pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Callan pivots to the side of his opponent.  Dowe attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Callan time to recover.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Dowe's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Dowe's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
