Rob Dougal vs Matthew Murrie

Boxing Daily Report from the Pearlnew Promotions promoted show at AISC, Adelaide,  taking place on 26/04/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rob Dougal (22(9) - 0) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Matthew Murrie(2 - 0 - 2) from Melbourne, Australia.  Dougal weighed in at 140 pounds, while Murrie weighed in at 139 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ben Samaras, and the three ringside judges are Jay Keller, Jay Keller and Kian Pugh.  

Round 1: 

Dougal lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Dougal steps inside and connects with a stinging left hook.  Dougal ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Dougal pushes his forearm into Murrie's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Dougal to stop fouling.  
Murrie throws a left hook, but Dougal clinches his opponent.  Dougal tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Murrie's kidney. Dougal throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Dougal is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Dougal lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Dougal lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Dougal ties up his opponent.  Dougal uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Murrie behind the head. Dougal leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Dougal lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Dougal steps inside and drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.  
Dougal walks Murrie into the corner.  Dougal connects with a firm right hook.  
Murrie attempts to land a jab, but Dougal slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Dougal lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Dougal drives a right hook into Murrie's body.  
Dougal walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Dougal connects with a sharp right hook.  
Dougal connects with a right uppercut.  
Dougal drives a stinging right uppercut into Murrie's body.  
Dougal closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Dougal walks his opponent into the corner.  Dougal is on target with a right hook to Murrie's ribcage.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Murrie's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Murrie's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Murrie's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Murrie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Dougal lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Dougal lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Dougal lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Dougal thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Murrie away.  Dougal is on target with a FEROCIOUS right uppercut.  MURRIE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  HE FAILS TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Dougal!
