Chris Steen vs Mark Magruder

Boxing Daily Report from the Hands Promotions promoted show at Palladium Ballroom, Dallas,  taking place on 04/06/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Chris Steen (1 - 3) who hails from San Jose, USA and Mark Magruder(11 - 8 - 4) from Richmond, USA.  Steen weighed in at 115 pounds, while Magruder weighed in at 114 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Brett Sproule, and the three ringside judges are Darryl Corral, Orlando Merlin and James Rave.  

Round 1: 

Magruder closes the distance and manouvers his opponent into a neutral corner.  Magruder pivots to the right of his opponent.  Steen lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Magruder has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Steen is on target with a cross.  
Steen gets on the inside.  Magruder pivots to the left of his opponent.  Steen lands a right hook.  
Steen wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Magruder dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Magruder steps inside.  Magruder sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Steen drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Steen lands an overhand right.  
Magruder throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Magruder pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Steen's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Magruder's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
