Lazar Oshchepkov vs Boris Kaplan

Boxing Daily Report from the Afotey Promotions promoted show at Krasnoyarsk Dedushkin, Krasnoyarsk,  taking place on 07/05/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Russia-Krasnoyarsk Krai Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Russia, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Lazar Oshchepkov (12 - 1) who hails from Krasnoyarsk, Russia and Boris Kaplan(15 - 3 - 1) from Krasnoyarsk, Russia.  Both Oshchepkov and Kaplan weighed in at 160 pounds.

Oshchepkov tries to keep the action at long range and lands a sharp cross.  
Kaplan steps inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Kaplan forces Oshchepkov to retreat onto the ropes.  Oshchepkov lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Kaplan advances into close range.  Oshchepkov throws a left uppercut, but misses the target.  Oshchepkov ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kaplan pushes his forearm into Oshchepkov's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kaplan.

Kaplan gets on the inside and manouvers Oshchepkov onto the ropes.  Kaplan attempts to land a left hook, but Oshchepkov dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Oshchepkov steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Oshchepkov sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Oshchepkov tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross to the body followed by a overhand right to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Oshchepkov is looking to force the stoppage!  Oshchepkov lands a hurtful right hook.  KAPLAN HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 9.  He holds his fists up but stumbles into the referee! Kaplan doesn't look like he's recovered at all.  The ref seems to thinks so as well...he's signalling that the fight is over!  The winner by TKO is Oshchepkov!
