James Connolly vs Tommy Ross

Boxing Daily Report from the Glove Shack promoted show at Wembley Arena, London,  taking place on 22/05/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the British-Southern England Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Connolly (7 - 12(1) - 4) who hails from London, UK and Tommy Ross(13 - 3 - 1) from London, UK.  Connolly weighed in at 139 pounds And 11 ounces, while Ross weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jim McCombie, and the three ringside judges are Cole Beirne, David Priddy and Gethin Kavanah.  

Round 1: 

Ross steps away from his opponent and finds the target with a jab.

Ross leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Connolly accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Ross.

Ross drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Ross steps inside.  Connolly sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a left uppercut.  
Connolly tries to keep the action at long range and drives a jab into Ross's body.  
Connolly steps to the outside and lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Connolly feints a left hook, and then lands a cross.

As they grapple, Connolly pushes his forearm into Ross's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Connolly.
