Jamar Phiri vs Rich Van der Byl

Boxing Daily Report from the African Fusion promoted show at Standard Bank Arena, Johannesburg,  taking place on 05/06/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the South Africa Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SABC1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jamar Phiri (19 - 7 - 1) who hails from Khayelitsha, South Africa and Rich Van der Byl(10 - 10 - 4) from Soweto, South Africa.  Phiri weighed in at 130 pounds, while Van der Byl weighed in at 129 pounds and 5 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Quaddus Rascalimu, and the three ringside judges are Roos Van der Linde, Isaac Chohan and Quaashie Duncan.  

Round 1: 

Phiri is looking to close the distance and drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.
