Jay Morrice vs Kai Kirkbride

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at Gore Gym, Boston,  taking place on 22/05/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Jay Morrice (2 - 0) who hails from Lowell, USA and Kai Kirkbride(1 - 1) from Denver, USA.  Both Morrice and Kirkbride weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Noble, and the three ringside judges are Nathan Burt, Hassan Quadri and Oliver McCleese.  

Round 1: 

Morrice is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Morrice is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Morrice feints a cross, and then lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Morrice advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Morrice closes the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps.  Morrice ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kirkbride pushes his forearm into Morrice's face.  The referee warns Kirkbride and breaks the clinch.
