John Lay vs Dai Pohopohe

Boxing Daily Report from the Hennessy Boxing promoted show at WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong,  taking place on 10/07/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Lay (9(2) - 1(1)) who hails from Perth, Australia and Dai Pohopohe(10 - 6 - 2) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Lay and Pohopohe weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Zeatounian, and the three ringside judges are Lewis Mescall, Colin McKay and Aaron Hepburn.  

Round 1: 

Lay steps inside.  Lay lands a right uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  As Pohopohe tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lay dabs at his face checking for damage.
