Chris Nelson vs Lucas Charles

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Wellington promoted show at Stuart Stealey Gym, Wellington,  taking place on 26/06/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Wellington Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Nelson (15 - 4 - 4) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Lucas Charles(14(2) - 0) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Nelson and Charles weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alen Ritchey, and the three ringside judges are Patrick Swanson, Paul Redhead and Declan Ngarara.  

Round 1: 

Nelson gets on the inside.  Charles digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Charles digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Charles is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Charles advances into close range and throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Charles closes the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Charles lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Charles walks Nelson down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Charles lands a left uppercut.  
Nelson is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Charles gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Charles lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Nelson closes the distance.  Charles hits home with a right uppercut.  
Charles drives a right hook into Nelson's body.

Charles digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Charles lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.

Nelson tries to land a left hook, but Charles sidesteps and counters with a nasty right uppercut to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE NELSON WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Nelson almost instantly recovers.

Nelson switches the action to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Nelson gets on the inside.  Charles connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Charles lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.

Nelson advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Charles lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Nelson is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a cross.  Nelson now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Charles.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
