Odilon Mendy vs Franchot Galliard

Boxing Daily Report from the Wigwam Promotions promoted show at Stade de Diaraf, Dakar,  taking place on 23/07/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Odilon Mendy (23 - 1) who hails from Pikine, Senegal and Franchot Galliard(10 - 8(1) - 3) from Dakar, Senegal.  Both Mendy and Galliard weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alain Savane, and the three ringside judges are Montrell Noury, Brigham Coly and Maslin Diene.  

Round 1: 

Mendy is looking to close the distance.  Mendy pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Galliard steps away from his opponent.  Mendy lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Mendy is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mendy sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut.  
Mendy sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mendy wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Galliard has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Mendy forces Galliard to retreat into a corner.  Mendy hits home with a left hook.  Mendy clinches his opponent.  Mendy leans on his opponent using all his weight. Galliard is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mendy lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Mendy clinches his opponent.  Galliard pushes his forearm into Mendy's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
