Dale McPhee vs Matthew Barnes

Boxing Daily Report from the Maximillion McKing promoted show at Detroit Weglarz, Detroit,  taking place on 02/07/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Michigan Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dale McPhee (11 - 4 - 2) who hails from Detroit, USA and Matthew Barnes(13 - 9 - 1) from Detroit, USA.  McPhee weighed in at 147 pounds, while Barnes weighed in at 146 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Max Gura, and the three ringside judges are Jasper Mudie, Andy Duke and Phil Boydston.  

Round 1: 

McPhee is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Barnes attempts to land a jab, but McPhee dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to McPhee.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Barnes steps inside and lands a left hook.

As McPhee tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Barnes dabs at his face checking for damage.
