Joey Boag vs Gethin Cardenas

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Fair Expo Center Sunshine Pavilion, Miami,  taking place on 17/07/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-South Atlantic Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Joey Boag (7 - 8 - 3) who hails from Greensboro, USA and Gethin Cardenas(6 - 1) from Charlotte, USA.  Both Boag and Cardenas weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Sprout, and the three ringside judges are Onofre Villagomez, Theo Ines and Oliver Mirando.  

Round 1: 

Cardenas advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head followed by two left uppercut's to the body.  Cardenas ties up his opponent.  Cardenas leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Cardenas is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Cardenas throws a left uppercut, but is unable to find the target.  Cardenas holds on to his opponent.  Cardenas is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cardenas.
