Mark Sibanda vs Mark Chiroto

Boxing Daily Report from the Quartey Promotions promoted show at Elliot Muchinguri Gym, Harare,  taking place on 03/07/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Zimbabwe-Harare Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mark Sibanda (7 - 6 - 1) who hails from Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe and Mark Chiroto(13 - 3) from Harare, Zimbabwe.  Sibanda weighed in at 126 pounds, while Chiroto weighed in at 125 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is John Takawira, and the three ringside judges are Richie Mujuru, Jack Feamster and Peabo Chikwava.  

Round 1: 

Chiroto digs in a left hook to Sibanda's ribs.  
Chiroto connects with a cross.  
Chiroto advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Chiroto lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Chiroto attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Sibanda's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Sibanda steps inside.  Chiroto connects with a left hook.  Chiroto holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Chiroto pushes his forearm into Sibanda's face.  The referee warns Chiroto and breaks the clinch.  
Sibanda lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Chiroto connects with a sharp left hook.  Chiroto holds on to his opponent.  Chiroto leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Chiroto dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Chiroto lands a cross.  
Sibanda steps to the outside and lands a jab.  
Chiroto advances into close range.  Chiroto lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  As Chiroto tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Sibanda.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sibanda's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Sibanda's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Sibanda's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Chiroto throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Chiroto leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Chiroto pushes his forearm into Sibanda's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Chiroto to stop fouling.  
Sibanda steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Chiroto is looking to close the distance.  Sibanda throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Chiroto gets on the inside and is on target with a firm left hook.  
Sibanda steps inside.  Chiroto lands a firm right hook.  
Chiroto throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Chiroto holds on to his opponent.  Chiroto hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Chiroto is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.
