Aimon Ruiz vs Gig Grimaldo

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Teatro Caupolican, Santiago,  taking place on 24/07/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Chile Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports Chile, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Aimon Ruiz (10(5) - 0) who hails from Viba del Mar, Chile and Gig Grimaldo(7 - 3 - 1) from La Florida, Chile.  Both Ruiz and Grimaldo weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Angel Lebron, and the three ringside judges are Lisandro Lozada, Jax Salina and Santiago Burgos.  

Round 1: 

Ruiz is looking to close the distance and digs in a left hook to Grimaldo's body.  
Ruiz is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents body.  Ruiz clinches his opponent.  Ruiz leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Ruiz pushes his forearm into Grimaldo's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Ruiz lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Grimaldo wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ruiz dabs at his face checking for damage.
