Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Centennial Gardens, Bakersfield,  taking place on 04/08/2027:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rob Rainey (15(9) - 0) who hails from El Paso, USA and Faisal Shad(11(2) - 14(3) - 2) from Isfahan, Iran.  Rainey weighed in at 230 pounds and 3 ounces, while Shad weighed in at 234 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sam Powell, and the three ringside judges are Leeroy Hughen, Darryl Bruce and Waleed Naqvi.  

Round 1: 

Rainey steps inside.  Shad lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

Rainey steps inside and tries to land a left hook, but Shad dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Rainey lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  Rainey attempts to land a jab, but Shad blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Rainey closes the distance.  Shad attempts to land a left uppercut, but Rainey slips the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Rainey lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Rainey lands a stinging left hook.  
Rainey advances into close range.  Shad is on target with a left hook.  
Rainey manouvers Shad into the corner.  Rainey lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

Rainey connects with a left hook.  Rainey tries to land a right hook, but Shad blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rainey connects with a nasty right hook.  SHAD IS HURT!  
Rainey senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Rainey lands a right uppercut followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head, DROPPING SHAD TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Shad now seems to have got his legs back.  
Rainey drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  Rainey tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Rainey drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Shad lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Shad lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Rainey pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
Shad steps away from his opponent.  Rainey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Shad attempts to land a cross, but Rainey sidesteps and counters with a solid cross.  
Shad is on target with a solid left hook.  
Rainey is looking to close the distance.  Shad is on target with a left hook to Rainey's ribs.  Shad throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Rainey time to recover.  
Rainey pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Shad's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Shad's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Shad's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Shad steps to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Rainey sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Rainey advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Shad hits home with a right hook.  
Rainey is on target with a firm left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Rainey advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Rainey DETONATES a BRUTAL right uppercut on his opponents face.  SHAD WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Shad recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
