Juan Candelario vs Orlando Monzon

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nicaragua-Masaya promoted show at Masaya Echevarria, Masaya,  taking place on 26/06/2027:

Clearly AI Nicaragua-Masaya have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nicaragua-Masaya Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Juan Candelario (10 - 10(1) - 2) who hails from Masaya, Nicaragua and Orlando Monzon(3 - 0) from Masaya, Nicaragua.  Both Candelario and Monzon weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paco Don, and the three ringside judges are Cipriano Casado, Diego Olivar and Santiago Casco.

Monzon drives a stinging left hook into Candelario's liver.

Candelario hits home with a left hook.  Monzon clinches his opponent.  Monzon is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Monzon digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Candelario is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Candelario sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Monzon hits home with a cross.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Candelario's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Candelario's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate. Monzon closes the distance.  Candelario throws a left hook, but Monzon clinches his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Candelario switches the action to the outside.  Monzon throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Monzon advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Monzon throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps.  Monzon holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Monzon pushes his forearm into Candelario's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Monzon about fouling.  
Monzon pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Monzon lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Monzon lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Monzon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Candelario tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Monzon advances into close range.  Monzon hits home with a firm right hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref steps in and separates the two fighters to check for damage.  Its not looking good!  The ref has ruled that the fight cannot continue due to the accidental damage.  As less than 4 rounds have been completed its going to be a no-contest!
