Ian Connolly vs Bryan Hughen

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Stub Hub Center (Tennis), Los Angeles,  taking place on 18/09/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ian Connolly (7 - 0) who hails from West Valley City, USA and Bryan Hughen(4 - 0 - 1) from Phoenix, USA.  Both Connolly and Hughen weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Adam Paulin, and the three ringside judges are Bruce Carra, Michael Pride and Robert Wyllie.  

Round 1: 

Hughen pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Connolly advances into close range.  Connolly pivots to the left of his opponent.  Connolly lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  Connolly holds on to his opponent.  Connolly throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Connolly closes the distance and lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Connolly sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Connolly lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Connolly clinches his opponent.  Connolly leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Hughen throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Hughen connects with a cross.  
Connolly steps inside.  Connolly pivots to the right of his opponent.  Hughen throws a right hook, but Connolly holds on to his opponent.  Connolly pushes his forearm into Hughen's face.  The referee warns Connolly and breaks the clinch.  
Connolly lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Connolly ties up his opponent.  Connolly tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Hughen behind the head.

Hughen steps away from his opponent and attempts to land a cross, but Connolly blocks the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Connolly is looking to close the distance and walks Hughen down, trapping him in a corner.  Connolly lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Connolly closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Connolly ties up his opponent.  Connolly leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Connolly pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Connolly wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.
