Vidal Davalos vs Diego Gimenez

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Dominican Republic-Distrito Nacional promoted show at Santo Domingo de Guz Vayo, Santo Domingo de Guzman,  taking place on 16/08/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Dominican Republic-Distrito Nacional Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on CERTV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vidal Davalos (15(1) - 3 - 1) who hails from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic and Diego Gimenez(11 - 10 - 4) from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic.  Both Davalos and Gimenez weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joaquin Burgo, and the three ringside judges are Hernan Orosco, Ramirez Banegas and Fresco Montes.  

Round 1: 

Davalos steps away from his opponent.  Davalos circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Gimenez throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Davalos gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.

Davalos connects with a right hook.  
Davalos lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Davalos closes the distance.  Davalos lands two left hook's to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Gimenez has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
