Diego Mandes vs Xaver Baro

Boxing Daily Report from the Kwei Promotions promoted show at Valencia Santibanez, Valencia,  taking place on 25/08/2027:

Clearly Kwei Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Diego Mandes (3(1) - 0) who hails from Bilbao, Spain and Xaver Baro(2 - 2 - 2) from Barcelona, Spain.  Both Mandes and Baro weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Cris Estay, and the three ringside judges are Jose Carpio, Jesus Dorado and Oihane Baena.  

Round 1: 

Mandes lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mandes steps inside and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Mandes steps inside and is on target with a sharp left hook.  
Mandes lands a stinging right hook.  
Mandes closes the distance.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Mandes.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Mandes is on target with a right hook to Baro's ribcage.

Mandes advances into close range.  Mandes quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a solid right hook.  
Mandes lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mandes feints a left, and then connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Mandes advances into close range and drives a solid left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Mandes sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mandes is on target with a stinging right hook.  Mandes ties up his opponent.  Mandes pushes his forearm into Baro's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mandes to stop fouling.  
Mandes lands two left hook's to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Mandes is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Mandes steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Baro is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Mandes knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Mandes lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND BARO IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Baro now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Mandes lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Mandes holds on to his opponent.  Mandes is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Mandes's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mandes cuts off the ring, trapping Baro on the ropes.  Mandes quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Baro throws a left uppercut, but Mandes clinches his opponent.  Mandes uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Baro behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mandes to stop fouling.  
Mandes lands a left hook.  
Baro throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Mandes is looking to close the distance and connects with a stinging right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Baro's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Mandes is on target with a stinging right hook to Baro's ribcage.  
Mandes hits home with a left hook.  
Mandes lands a solid cross.  
Baro is looking to keep his distance.  Mandes lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Mandes walks Baro onto the ropes.  Mandes sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Mandes lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mandes lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Baro is looking to keep his distance.  Mandes lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Mandes steps inside.  Mandes quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Baro connects with a left hook.  
Mandes steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, DROPPING BARO TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  Baro recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Baro's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Baro's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Baro's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Mandes advances into close range and walks Baro onto the ropes.  Baro throws a right hook, but Mandes ties up his opponent.  Mandes leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mandes throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Baro time to recover.  
Baro manages to force Mandes into the corner.  Baro drives a right hook into Mandes's ribcage.  
Mandes steps inside.  Baro throws a left hook, but Mandes ties up his opponent.  Mandes uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Baro's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mandes about fouling.

The ref asks Baro to get his gloves up, but he doesnt respond.  The ref has waved the fight off...he doesnt think Baro can continue!  The winner by TKO is Mandes!
