Danny Couts vs Peter Hetaraka

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 25/09/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Oceania Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Danny The Thin Man Couts (24(6) - 1(1)) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Peter Hetaraka(19 - 4) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Couts and Hetaraka weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Phaup, and the three ringside judges are Corey Pait, Richie Higgins and Neil McAllaster.  

Round 1: 

Hetaraka advances into close range and throws a left hook, but Couts ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Hetaraka pushes his forearm into Couts's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Couts strikes his opponents body with a stinging jab.  
Couts connects with a solid overhand right.  
Couts lands a jab.  
Couts is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Couts is looking to keep his distance.  Hetaraka hits home with a firm cross.  
Couts lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Couts is on target with a stinging cross.  
Couts tries to keep the action at long range.  Couts feints a left, and then lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Couts quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a sharp overhand left.  
Couts steps away from his opponent and is on target with a hard jab.  Couts throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Couts lands a jab, overhand right and a jab to his opponents head.

Hetaraka closes the distance.  Couts pivots from in front of his opponent.  Couts is on target with a firm left hook.  Couts holds on to his opponent.  Hetaraka is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hetaraka.  
Couts lands with a solid jab.  
Hetaraka closes the distance.  Couts sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hetaraka attempts to land a right uppercut, but Couts parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Couts steps away from his opponent and hits home with a spiteful jab.  
Hetaraka tries to land an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Couts attempts to land a jab, but Hetaraka slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Couts steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Hetaraka lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Couts clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Hetaraka pushes his forearm into Couts's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Hetaraka to stop fouling.

Couts lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Couts feints a right hook, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  Couts tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Hetaraka's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Couts is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a solid cross.  
Couts lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Hetaraka is looking to close the distance.  Couts sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hetaraka throws a right uppercut, but Couts ties up his opponent.  Couts pushes his forearm into Hetaraka's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Couts steps to the outside and lands a cross, jab and an overhand right to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Couts senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Hetaraka and just needs the right shot.  Couts lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head, DROPPING HETARAKA TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like Hetaraka has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Couts lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Couts switches the action to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Couts steps to the outside and lands with a hard jab.  
Couts lands a stinging cross.  
Hetaraka is looking to close the distance and attempts to land a left hook, but Couts blocks the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Couts steps to the outside and lands with a ramrod jab.  
Couts steps away from his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Hetaraka gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Couts clinches his opponent.  Hetaraka tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Couts behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.
