Santiago Ruano vs Chris Smith

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Crowne Plaza DIA, Denver,  taking place on 04/09/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Santiago Ruano (12(3) - 0) who hails from Carolina, Puerto Rico and Chris Smith(7 - 2 - 2) from New York City, USA.  Both Ruano and Smith weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Pollick, and the three ringside judges are Brad Spaulding, Alen Greenlaw and Mark Brimer.  

Round 1: 

Ruano gets on the inside and is on target with a solid left hook to his opponents body.  Ruano clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Ruano pushes his forearm into Smith's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ruano is looking to close the distance and hits home with a sharp left hook.  Ruano throws a left hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Ruano lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ruano gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Ruano closes the distance and digs in a right uppercut to Smith's body.
