Vince Rafferty vs Richie Brunetti

Boxing Daily Report from the No Limit promoted show at Michael Malloye Gym, Sydney,  taking place on 20/09/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Australia-New South Wales Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Vince Rafferty (12(3) - 0) who hails from Sydney, Australia and Richie Brunetti(9 - 13 - 2) from Sydney, Australia.  Both Rafferty and Brunetti weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joel Gittins, and the three ringside judges are Jamie Ford, Max Ogletree and Michael Kaplan.  

Round 1: 

Rafferty advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  Rafferty ties up his opponent.  Rafferty is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Rafferty and breaks the clinch.  
Rafferty lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Rafferty ties up his opponent.  Rafferty leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Rafferty manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Rafferty throws a left uppercut, but is unable to find the target.  Rafferty clinches his opponent.  Rafferty uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Brunetti behind the head. The referee warns Rafferty and breaks the clinch.  
Rafferty hits home with a firm right hook.  
Rafferty is on target with a right hook to Brunetti's ribs.  
Rafferty hits home with a left hook.  
Rafferty lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Rafferty pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a firm left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Rafferty quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Rafferty lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Rafferty advances into close range and attempts to land a left hook, but Brunetti dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Rafferty wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Brunetti dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Rafferty cuts off the ring, trapping Brunetti in a neutral corner.  Rafferty lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Brunetti almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Rafferty hits home with a right hook.  Rafferty ties up his opponent.  Rafferty leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Rafferty lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Brunetti steps to the outside.  Rafferty is on target with an overhand right.  
Rafferty lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Rafferty gets on the inside and is on target with a firm left hook.  
Rafferty lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Rafferty is on target with a right hook.  
Rafferty lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Rafferty lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Rafferty lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Rafferty advances into close range.  Brunetti pivots to the side of his opponent.  Rafferty is on target with a firm left uppercut to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Brunetti's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Brunetti's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Brunetti's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Brunetti tries to keep the action at long range.  Rafferty connects with a solid cross.

Rafferty closes the distance.  Rafferty sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Rafferty hits home with a right hook.

Brunetti pivots from in front of his opponent.  Rafferty connects with a SAVAGE right uppercut.  BRUNETTI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Rafferty thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Brunetti away.  Rafferty lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND SENDS BRUNETTI SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 9.  Brunetti now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.

Rafferty walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Rafferty lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

Rafferty lands a nasty left hook.  BRUNETTI IS HURT!  Brunetti recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
