Laken Kyomya vs James Cheman

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Uganda-Northern Region promoted show at Kit Gym, Gulu,  taking place on 03/10/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Uganda Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on UTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Laken Kyomya (9 - 10 - 5) who hails from Lira, Uganda and James Cheman(10(4) - 3) from Kampala, Uganda.  Kyomya weighed in at 175 pounds, while Cheman weighed in at 174 pounds and 7 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Yasin Abdelnour, and the three ringside judges are Keshawn Drito, Ibeamaka Katumba and Tobias Nkore.  

Round 1: 

Kyomya attempts to land a left hook, but Cheman sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Cheman lands a solid jab.  
Cheman advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

Cheman manouvers Kyomya into the corner.  Cheman lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Cheman clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Cheman pushes his forearm into Kyomya's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cheman.  
Cheman is on target with a left hook to Kyomya's ribs.  
Cheman steps inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Cheman holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Cheman's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
