Juan Candelario vs Orlando Monzon

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nicaragua-Masaya promoted show at Masaya Echevarria, Masaya,  taking place on 05/10/2027:

Clearly AI Nicaragua-Masaya have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nicaragua-Masaya Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Juan Candelario (10 - 10(1) - 2 - 1(NC)) who hails from Masaya, Nicaragua and Orlando Monzon(3 - 0 - 1(NC)) from Masaya, Nicaragua.  Both Candelario and Monzon weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gervasio Otero, and the three ringside judges are Santiago Casco, Paco Don and Rodrigo Colmenares.  

Round 1: 

Monzon throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps.  Monzon ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Monzon pushes his forearm into Candelario's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Monzon lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Monzon clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks Monzon's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Candelario dabs at his face checking for damage.  Candelario has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
