Peter Harp vs Davie Pettigrew

Boxing Daily Report from the JSW promoted show at Newcastle Entertainment Centre, Newcastle,  taking place on 30/10/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Peter Harp (1 - 0 - 1) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Davie Pettigrew(0 - 2) from Perth, Australia.  Both Harp and Pettigrew weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Arnie Lipton, and the three ringside judges are Peter Takes, Bob Solomon and Robert Callis.  

Round 1: 

Harp lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Harp attempts to land a right hook, but Pettigrew slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Harp cuts off the ring, trapping Pettigrew on the ropes.  Harp lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Harp ties up his opponent.  Pettigrew hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Harp lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Pettigrew advances into close range.  Harp lands a firm left hook.  Harp clinches his opponent.  Harp is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Pettigrew throws a right hook, but Harp ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Harp is on target with a left uppercut.  
Harp lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Harp is on target with a left hook.  
Harp is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Harp attempts to land a right hook, but Pettigrew blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Harp manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Harp lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Harp dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Harp throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Harp ties up his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Harp lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Harp drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Harp is on target with a jab.  
Harp is on target with a cross.  
Pettigrew steps inside and forces Harp to retreat onto the ropes.  Pettigrew sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Pettigrew throws a left hook, but Harp ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Harp pushes his forearm into Pettigrew's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Harp to stop fouling.  
Harp cuts off the ring, trapping Pettigrew in the corner.  Pettigrew tries to land a right hook, but Harp blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Harp pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a solid cross.  
Harp steps inside.  Pettigrew throws a right hook, but Harp holds on to his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Harp's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Pettigrew's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Pettigrew's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Harp cuts off the ring, trapping Pettigrew in a corner.  Harp lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Harp holds on to his opponent.  Harp leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Pettigrew attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Harp's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Harp connects with a right hook.  
Harp steps inside and is on target with a stinging left uppercut.

Harp lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Harp connects with a left uppercut.  
You can sense Pettigrew is getting frustrated in there.   He steps in close and swings a low uppercut into Harp's groin!  The ref doesnt appear to have noticed the foul and signals for the action to continue.  
Harp advances into close range and connects with a solid left hook.  
Harp walks Pettigrew down, trapping him in a corner.  Harp is on target with a right hook to Pettigrew's ribcage.
