Marlon Paquet vs Varden Butor

Boxing Daily Report from the Kauseni Promotions promoted show at Abidjan Obier, Abidjan,  taking place on 22/10/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ivory Coast-Lagunes Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Marlon Paquet (7 - 12(1) - 3) who hails from Abobo, Ivory Coast and Varden Butor(7 - 8 - 2) from Abidjan, Ivory Coast.  Paquet weighed in at 122 pounds, while Butor weighed in at 121 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Etienne Bayne, and the three ringside judges are Vail Allore, Jean Romand and Colar Char.  

Round 1: 

Paquet connects with a left hook.  
Paquet tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
Butor closes the distance.  Paquet attempts to land a right hook, but Butor sidesteps and counters with a cross.

Paquet throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Butor's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Paquet has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused a cut above the right eye.  .  
Butor sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Paquet's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Butor's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
