Emanuel Fulgencio vs Ovidio Alma

Boxing Daily Report from the Pearlnew Promotions promoted show at Sixto Escobar Stadium, San Juan,  taking place on 31/12/2027:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Emanuel Fulgencio (11 - 0) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Ovidio Alma(5 - 11 - 2) from Ponce, Puerto Rico.  Fulgencio weighed in at 135 pounds, while Alma weighed in at 134 pounds And 1 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Desiderio Cuellar, and the three ringside judges are Fausto Jasmin, Xaverius Rueda and Ricardo Montemayor.  

Round 1: 

Fulgencio is looking to close the distance.  Alma throws a left hook, but Fulgencio holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Fulgencio pushes his forearm into Alma's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Fulgencio.  
Fulgencio lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Fulgencio pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fulgencio manouvers Alma onto the ropes.  Fulgencio lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Fulgencio wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Alma dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Fulgencio lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fulgencio throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Fulgencio holds on to his opponent.  Fulgencio leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Fulgencio drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Alma tries to land a cross, but Fulgencio blocks the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Alma attempts to land a cross, but Fulgencio slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Fulgencio is looking to close the distance and hits home with a sharp right uppercut.  
Fulgencio lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Alma switches the action to the outside.  Fulgencio sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Fulgencio gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Fulgencio sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Alma throws a left hook, but Fulgencio clinches his opponent.  Fulgencio pushes his forearm into Alma's face.  The referee warns Fulgencio and breaks the clinch.  
Fulgencio steps to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Fulgencio sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Fulgencio lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Fulgencio pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Alma steps away from his opponent.  Fulgencio hits home with a cross.  
Fulgencio sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Fulgencio pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a solid left hook.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Fulgencio has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Fulgencio hits home with a left hook.  
Fulgencio forces Alma to retreat onto the ropes.  Fulgencio lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Fulgencio pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a sharp jab.  
Fulgencio closes the distance.  Fulgencio lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Fulgencio lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Fulgencio lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Fulgencio tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Fulgencio closes the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Alma in the corner.  Fulgencio connects with a firm left uppercut.  
Fulgencio pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.

Alma switches the action to the outside.  Alma lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Fulgencio lands with a ramrod jab.

Alma is clearly losing his cool here!   He throws a low uppercut...that landed well below the belt! The ref tells Alma to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Fulgencio time to recover.
