Shane Delaney vs Alberto Bonatti

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Italy-Lazio promoted show at PalaBoxe, Rome,  taking place on 16/12/2027:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the EU Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Italia, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Shane Delaney (19 - 5(3) - 2) who hails from Tallaght, Ireland and Alberto Bonatti(20(17) - 2(1)) from Rome, Italy.  Both Delaney and Bonatti weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Massimo Colombi, and the three ringside judges are Fino Zappacosta, Arturo Santoro and Vico Cerci.  

Round 1: 

Bonatti lands a right hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.

Delaney pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut.  
Delaney switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Bonatti blocks the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut to Delaney's ribcage.

Bonatti DETONATES a DEVASTATING left hook on his opponents face.  DELANEY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Delaney almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Bonatti digs in a stinging right uppercut to Delaney's body.  
Delaney steps away from his opponent and lands with a ramrod jab.  
Delaney tries to keep the action at long range and lands a jab.  
Delaney is on target with a jab.  Delaney attempts to land a cross, but Bonatti slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Bonatti manages to force Delaney into the corner.  Bonatti hits home with a solid right hook.  
Bonatti lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a double right hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING DELANEY DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  
Bonatti knows Delaney is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Bonatti lands a big left uppercut.  DELANEY IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Delaney now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Delaney tries to step out of his opponents range and attempts to land a cross, but Bonatti blocks the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Bonatti is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Delaney quickly recovers. 
Delaney digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  Delaney attempts to land a right hook, but Bonatti blocks the shot and counters with a solid cross.

Bonatti lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Delaney recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Bonatti forces Delaney to back into the ropes.  Bonatti lands a big cross.  DELANEY IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 9.  
Bonatti closes the distance.  Bonatti is looking to force the stoppage!  Bonatti lands a right uppercut, right hook and a cross to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES DELANEY!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Bonatti!
