Theophilus Faruk vs Morgan Boamponsem

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Kwara State promoted show at Nigeria-Kwara State Gym, Ilorin,  taking place on 04/01/2028:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Western African Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on AIT Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Theophilus Faruk (23(19) - 4(4)) who hails from Ilorin, Nigeria and Morgan Boamponsem(17 - 4(1)) from Kumasi, Ghana.  Both Faruk and Boamponsem weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Shehu Ikisikpo, and the three ringside judges are Majid Farooq, Asif Hussain and Rabiu Udoobong.  

Round 1: 

Faruk throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Boamponsem lands a left uppercut to the body, a jab to the head and a cross to the body.  
Boamponsem attempts to land a right hook, but Faruk slips the shot and counters with a solid right hook to his opponents body.  
Faruk strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Boamponsem quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Faruk connects with a BRUTAL cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE BOAMPONSEM WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Boamponsem recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Faruk gets on the inside and is on target with a firm right hook.  
Faruk hits home with a stiff jab.  
Faruk pivots from in front of his opponent.  Faruk lands with a hard jab.  Faruk tries to land a cross, but Boamponsem blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Faruk is looking to close the distance and lands two right hooks followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Boamponsem lands a jab.  
Faruk pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Boamponsem connects with a cross.  Boamponsem throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Faruk advances into close range.  Faruk sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Faruk gets on the inside.  Faruk sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Boamponsem quickly recovers. 
Faruk is looking to keep his distance.  Faruk sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Faruk drives a jab into Boamponsem's body.  
Faruk closes the distance.  Faruk pivots to the side of his opponent and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
Faruk is on target with a cross.  
Boamponsem quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Faruk hits the target with a stinging jab.  Faruk attempts to land a cross, but Boamponsem sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Boamponsem feints a jab, tricking Faruk into launching a right hook counter.  Boamponsem springs the trap, countering with  a solid right uppercut to Faruk's ribs.  
Faruk is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab.  
Faruk gets on the inside.  Faruk lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Faruk wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Boamponsem dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Faruk pivots to the side of his opponent and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Boamponsem steps to the outside.  Faruk lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Boamponsem pivots from in front of his opponent.  Boamponsem throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Boamponsem's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Boamponsem's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Boamponsem tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Faruk steps inside and drives a sharp right hook into Boamponsem's ribcage.  
Faruk is looking to close the distance.  Boamponsem lands a right hook.  
Faruk lands a stinging left hook.  
Faruk pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Boamponsem pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a sharp cross.  
Boamponsem is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Boamponsem lands a cross.  Boamponsem tries to land a cross, but Faruk parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Faruk is looking to close the distance.  Faruk pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head, AND DROPS BOAMPONSEM TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 8.  Boamponsem recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Faruk lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Boamponsem throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.  
Faruk is looking to close the distance.  Faruk pivots to the left of his opponent.  Faruk is on target with a solid left hook to his opponents liver.  Faruk throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Boamponsem is looking to keep his distance.  Boamponsem sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a hard jab.  
Boamponsem tries to step out of his opponents range.  Faruk lands a VICIOUS overhand right.  BOAMPONSEM IS DOWN!  HE TRIES TO RISE ON SHAKY LEGS BUT BOAMPONSEM CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Faruk!
