Olindo Montanez vs Brad Haig

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at New City Gas, Montreal,  taking place on 25/12/2027:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Olindo Montanez (4(1) - 0) who hails from Trujillo, Peru and Brad Haig(7 - 5(1) - 1) from Montreal, Canada.  Both Montanez and Haig weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Briant Sarraute, and the three ringside judges are Louis Marvingt, Elliot Girardot and Olier Paradis.  

Round 1: 

Montanez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Montanez lands a solid right hook.  Montanez holds on to his opponent.  Montanez pushes his forearm into Haig's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Montanez advances into close range and throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Montanez clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Montanez pushes his forearm into Haig's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Montanez.  
Montanez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Montanez steps inside.  Montanez sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a firm left hook.  
Haig throws a left hook, but Montanez ties up his opponent.  Montanez is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Montanez and breaks the clinch.  
Montanez pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into Haig's ribcage.  
Montanez connects with a left uppercut.  Montanez clinches his opponent.  Montanez uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Haig's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Montanez hits home with a left hook.  
Montanez lands with a stiff jab.  
Montanez advances into close range and connects with a solid left hook.  
Haig pivots to the side of his opponent.  Montanez lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Haig quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Montanez lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Montanez lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.  Montanez ties up his opponent.  Montanez leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Montanez's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Montanez steps inside and drives a stinging left hook into Haig's ribs.  Montanez throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Montanez is looking to close the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Montanez ties up his opponent.  Montanez is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Montanez lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Haig dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Montanez closes the distance and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Montanez is on target with a sharp left hook to Haig's body.  
Montanez is on target with a solid right hook.  
Montanez lands a left uppercut followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Montanez lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Montanez steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS HAIG TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Haig almost instantly gets his legs back. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Haig's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Haig's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Haig's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Haig's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Montanez advances into close range and attempts to land a left uppercut, but Haig blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Montanez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a solid left uppercut.  
Montanez is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Montanez steps inside and connects with a sharp left hook.  
Montanez lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Montanez tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Montanez gets on the inside and lands a SAVAGE right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE HAIG WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Haig recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Montanez lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Montanez lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Haig pivots to the right of his opponent andThe two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Haig dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Montanez is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Haig recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Montanez advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Montanez holds on to his opponent.  Montanez is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Haig forces Montanez to retreat onto the ropes.  Montanez connects with a firm cross.  
Montanez lands a jab followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Montanez pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left uppercut to the head.

Montanez gets on the inside and is on target with a stinging right hook to Haig's ribs.  
Montanez is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES HAIG!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Montanez knows Haig is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Montanez lands two straights followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  The winner by KO is Montanez!
