Kai Secombe vs Justin Ahearne

Boxing Daily Report from the Jon Crosby promoted show at Oceana, Southampton,  taking place on 18/01/2028:

Clearly Jon Crosby have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kai Secombe (17(9) - 0 - 1) who hails from Cambridge, UK and Justin Ahearne(1 - 5) from Sheffield, UK.  Secombe weighed in at 121 pounds and 1 ounces, while Ahearne weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Whitfield, and the three ringside judges are Aaron McNabb, Robert Desmond and Colin McCoubrey.  

Round 1: 

Ahearne advances into close range.  Secombe is on target with a powerful right hook.  AHEARNE IS HURT!  Ahearne almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Secombe gets on the inside.  Ahearne throws a left hook, but Secombe ties up his opponent.  The ref breaks Secombe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Secombe closes the distance.  Ahearne throws a left hook, but Secombe holds on to his opponent.  Secombe pushes his forearm into Ahearne's face.  The referee warns Secombe and breaks the clinch.  
Secombe lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a right hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Ahearne could be stopped here, if Secombe can find the right shot!  Secombe SLAMS a FIERCE left uppercut into his opponents face.  AHEARNE IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 7.  Ahearne now seems to have his senses back.  
Ahearne advances into close range.  Secombe drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  Secombe clinches his opponent.  Secombe is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Secombe uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ahearne behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Secombe to stop fouling.  
Secombe closes the distance and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Secombe ties up his opponent.  Secombe leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Secombe's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ahearne tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Secombe attempts to land a left hook, but Ahearne blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Secombe pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Secombe digs in a powerful left hook to his opponents body.  AHEARNE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  It looks like Ahearne has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Secombe hits home with a cross.  
Secombe hits home with a stinging right hook.  Secombe holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Secombe hits home with a left hook.  
Secombe lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Ahearne sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ahearne's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Ahearne's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.
